Republicans address hopes and fears ahead of legislative session adjournment


In a press conference covering a wide range of topics, House and Senate Republicans addressed their biggest hopes and fears as the 2021 legislative session winds to a close and revealed they currently do not have votes to support the bond required to fund the proposed transportation budget. Legislators discussed a proposed income tax on capital gains, police reform, limiting the governor's emergency powers, fixing the state Supreme Court decision decriminalizing drug possession, state budgets and other issues. Participating in the media availability were Reps. J.T. Wilcox, Andrew Barkis and Drew Stokesbary and Sens. John Braun, Ron Muzzall and Keith Wagoner.
