Rep. J.T. Wilcox says Inslee’s recent emergency decisions feel excessive, punitive

Rep. J.T. Wilcox, R-Yelm, tells KNKX's All Things Considered host Ed Ronco that Gov. Jay Inslee's recent decision to move Pierce, Cowlitz and Whitman counties from Phase 3 to Phase 2 feels punitive and is unnecessary given the high percentage of the vulnerable population that has been vaccinated and the ample capacity in hospitals to handle serious cases. Wilcox says the governor's unchecked authority to continue a state of emergency and perpetuate ongoing proclamations without legislative input feels excessive and is not how people expect to be governed.
