It’s time for a legislative role in emergency powers, Republican leaders tell media

House Republican Leader J.T. Wilcox announced to the media a Republican plan to offer a special motion allowing the House to consider a bill requiring more legislative oversight in emergency powers currently administered almost exclusively by the governor. Senate and House Republican leaders also shared their concerns about proposed tax increases and answered reporters' questions about a wealth tax on billionaires, fixing the state Supreme Court decision legalizing drugs, the allocation of federal funds and budget negotiations. Present at the press event were Sens. John Braun and Ann Rivers and Reps. Wilcox and Ed Orcutt.
