Dear Friends and Neighbors,

On Monday, March 22, I will be hosting a virtual town hall meeting with fellow 2nd District Rep. Andrew Barkis. During the meeting, which will start at 6 p.m., the two of us will provide an update on this year’s legislative session and then take questions from participants. If you would like to join us, please pre-register here. There’s also an option to submit questions in advance on that page. If you’re unable to join us, please know you can always call me at (360) 786-7912 or send me an email with your comments, questions or concerns.

One of the biggest topics of conversation we’ll be covering is the latest state revenue forecast, which was released Wednesday morning. Although families and businesses have suffered throughout the pandemic, state tax collections have remained strong and continue to grow. Washington state is now projected to have a $3 billion budget surplus by the middle of this year. These latest revenue numbers prove there is absolutely no case to be made for new and higher taxes. We’ll keep making that clear to the governor and majority party as session continues.

It is an honor to serve you. I’ll be back with another update next week.
