SATTGAST: House Republican Leader Representative J.T. Wilcox of Yelm, who has served as House Republican Leader since March 2018, was re-elected to that position. Wilcox says helping families, workers, businesses, restaurants and small retailers affected by COVID-19 are among House Republicans' top priorities.

WILCOX: “Every single member of the House Republican Caucus wants to help provide solutions and the dollars that are necessary to save small business. And we also want to be the best examples we can be for people in Washington to be safe. We want to turn the corner. We know that we've got a vaccine coming and we want to start 2021 off with success.”

SATTGAST: Others re-elected to leadership include: Representative Joel Kretz of Wauconda as Deputy Leader; Representative Paul Harris of Vancouver as Caucus Chair, and Representative Dan Griffey of Allyn as Whip. Representative Jacquelin Maycumber of Republic will continue to serve as Floor Leader, and Representatives Drew MacEwen of Union and Chris Corry of Yakima will serve as Assistant Floor Leaders.

The scheduled 105-day session begins January 11th.
