Wilcox sponsors Olympia student as page in state House

Evergreen Christian School student Abigail Bunn recently spent a week serving as a page in the Washington State House of Representatives. She was sponsored by 2nd District Rep. J.T. Wilcox, R-Yelm.

Abigail resides in Olympia with her parents, Alex and Tammy. In her free time, she enjoys reading and dancing. While serving as a House page, she attended page school every day, delivered messages and documents to legislators and staff, and fulfilled other tasks critical to the efficient operation of the Legislature.

“It was a pleasure meeting Abigail and having the opportunity to sponsor her as a page,” said Wilcox. “I am grateful for her service, and admire her for being civic-minded and engaged in the process.”

Each year, students from around the state apply to participate in the House Page Program. To become a page, applicants must have a legislative sponsor, be between the ages of 14 and 16, and obtain written permission from their parents and school. Pages earn $35 per day while serving in the program. For more information about the House Page Program, click here.
